The GP-VNIR ScanCorder, our general-purpose multispectral sensor covering the visible and near-infrared range, has just received a major hardware and firmware upgrade. Designed for broad applicability in research, education, and industrial sensing, this latest release brings the ScanCorder platform another step closer to full technological maturity.
What’s New
The new GP-VNIR generation introduces several improvements that significantly enhance measurement quality and user flexibility:
- Band-wise adaptive integration time - each spectral band automatically adjusts its exposure to the optimal range.
- Software-programmable potentiometer (band-wise) - compensates for differences in LED brightness and detector sensitivity, ensuring consistent spectral response.
- Enhanced power management - a higher-capacity battery supports longer field use and stable performance under demanding conditions.
- USB-C 3.0 port - for convenient charging and direct firmware updates.
- Replaceable tip of the measurement head - a modular design that allows customised geometries or fixtures to match the shape and interaction needs of specific samples.
Together, these upgrades deliver higher precision, improved robustness, and an easier workflow for data acquisition and maintenance.
Legacy Devices
A limited number of legacy GP-VNIR ScanCorder units are still available at a reduced price.
They remain well-suited for applications that do not require the full precision of the new release - or for classroom demonstrations, where the compact design and clear illustration of inverted spectroscopy make them ideal teaching tools.
